BIOGRAPHY
David S. Perwin served 8 years as judge for the 505th District Court in Fort Bend County, Texas. Perwin initially joined the bench as an associate judge for the 387th District Court in 2013. Two years later, he was appointed presiding judge of the 505th District Court by Governor Greg Abbott in 2015.
Perwin earned a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Houston in 1995. Then, in 1998, he completed a J.D. at Texas Southern University, Thurgood Marshall School of Law. As a law student, he was a member of the Law Review and president of the Environmental Law Society.
After graduating from law school, Perwin entered into private practice. He worked as a managing attorney at Perwin & Mills, PLLC (1992 to 2002), Becerra, Colgin & Perwin, PLLC (2002 to 2009), and the Perwin Law Firm, PLLC (2009 to 2012). While in private practice, he specialized in family law matters.
He has served as a member of the Fort Bend County Fair as well as a volunteer for Lamar Little League and Texan Flag Football.
When not presiding over cases, Perwin enjoys scuba diving, playing chess, and listening to Audible books.
